Lake Sunapee State Beach
Newbury, NH
- While swimming in Lake Sunapee, float on your back and gaze at beautiful Mount Sunapee. Or stake your claim (and towel) to a piece of the 300 yards of beach that are open to the public. You'll enjoy the shady picnic area whether you bring your own food or take advantage of the on-premises snack bar. The bathhouse makes it easy to change before driving home after a day in the sand. The beach season starts in mid-June and runs through Labor Day.

New Hampshire residents love this quiet spot on Kezar Lake. The sandy beach is sparcely populated, and kids can swim without being crowded. This is a wonderful place to relax and swim or sunbathe, distant views of Mt. Kearsarge. Bring food and enjoy the shady picnic area. If you forget your lunch or decide to stay through supper hour, the Vernondale Store on Route 114 is near the park entrance. You'll find sandwiches, cold cuts, and cold drinks for an impromptu meal. The beach park opens at 10AM on weekdays and 9AM on weekends. It closes at 8PM.
